Opportunities and Delightful Surprises
I’ve always believed in taking opportunities when they present themselves. Particularly invitations. You never know what you might discover. Take yesterday for example. A friend offered me a ticket to see a show down in Corrimal as her friend couldn’t make it at the last minute. I did have other plans for the day, but when this came up I rearranged my day. Amazing how much you can fit in when you suddenly have a deadline.
Anyhow, off I went by train, so much more relaxing than driving and just enjoying the lovely scenery particularly near the coastline looking out over the ocean. I was picked up by my friend from the station as she lives down that way and off we went to the theatre to see “The Adams Family”. Remembering the old tv series from many years back I was wondering how this would be presented.
I could not have had a more enjoyable experience. Before the show I glimpsed one of the cast in costume and having my camera handy I approached staff about possibly taking some photos after the show. I was directed to the very charming director/producer Malcom White. I explained that I would like to write about his show on my blog and he went off to see if he could arrange for me to take a few shots after the show.
Settling down to enjoy ourselves I can honestly say this was one of the most delightful, amusing and enjoyable musicals I have seen for a very long time. Every character was played to perfection. The singing, the dancing, including some fabulous tap dancing, the antics the humour, the costumes and the obvious and total enjoyment of the cast as well as the audience was palpable. All too soon the show ended and it was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces around me.
The director, true to his word, asked the main cast to come out so I could take a few photos. Here they are and I hope you enjoy them. This show is running till the 15th August at the Miner’s Lamp Theatre, 141 Princes Highway, Corrimal.
So well worth rearranging my timetable yesterday and meeting such a lovely and talented cast. As I mentioned it’s great to take those opportunites when they come your way.
